      Fast backward

      October 28th, 2009

Due to a long blogging absence I missed quite a few interesting events in the past, oh I don’t know, 6 months or so.

So here’s a quick recap of 4th of July. It was such a good time I couldn’t help but reminisce.

Kristin & Mike and Jennifer & Dirk came up to visit. We got all gussied up and headed in to Manhattan to meet up with Isabelle & Tony.

I highly recommend watching this repeatedly for a full day. It soothes the nerves.

a home for our collection of The Economist

      September 1st, 2009

      coffee table

After months of pondering and lusting after not-quite-right options, our coffee table is arriving tomorrow! In the end, due to the shape of the room, we had to prioritize the mobility and storage of this table over others. And, the fake-industrial look of this one will soften a bit the modern edge of the room.

Next - on to the office!

*By the way, I’ve never read The Economist in my life. More like a home for my collection of Us Weekly.

      a treat for my toes

      August 28th, 2009

Considering the joy that this rug has brought to my life [And this is despite the fact that it sheds red hair everywhere. Seriously, we might as well live with Clifford.] I have no doubt that this bit of Amy Butler beauty would be just right for our bedroom.

      Paris Sunset

After a long day of meetings, following zero sleep, all went well. And we enjoyed a gorgeous walk/bike ride around Paris.

      Photo thanks to Diana.

      she said yes

Very excited that one of my favorite people is getting married. Which, frankly, I thought might never happen given that she was against marriage and all. But we’re all allowed to change our minds.

And the Maestro changed her mind:

      Dirk

[God, don’t you love that ominous picture? I couldn’t resist.]

I am so looking forward to a German adventure next year! Especially since I’m the matron-of-honor. Doesn’t that just sounds stuffy and bossy? How appropriate!

      the way the world works

      August 25th, 2009

Tung finds interesting new music via a variety of blogs/websites/friends. Tung listens to said interesting new music repeatedly while doing whatever the heck it is Tung does all freaking day and night. [Not having a job must be really fun.]

Tung shares interesting new music with Thom.

Thom calls it “shit.” Thom refuses to listen. 2 months later Thom says to Tung “Have you ever heard of XXX band? They’re awesome!” Tung threatens to kill himself. Thom proceeds to listen to new band over and over again.

Therefore, Jesse is forced to listen to new band as well.

I know this one is seriously making the rounds [and with good reason] but just thought you’d like to know how it came to me, personally.

And, Dooce, it is most certainly still called an album. And any kid who tells you otherwise should be thrown to the wolves. Or at the very least, laughed at.
