freakishly ahead of the game

We purchased Thom’s suit and my wedding dress today! We went to soho to look at dresses at Nicole Miller and happened across a huge sale at Paul Smith. We’re going to look mighty snazzy and all within budget.

* Above picture is of a doll - not my dress!

dreams do come true

A few weeks ago (at least a month by now) Thom and Ben planted some seeds in the herb garden. I didn’t have much faith - especially after a friend’s dog kicked up the dirt in the herb box. But now we have several different kinds of basil growing! Sure, it doesn’t look like much yet but it’s something.

Ben - what else did you plant in there??

And the rose bush bloomed again… One of the reasons why the backyard is our favorite room.

don’t hold your breath

This is just one of many reasons why we need to have the closets redone in the house. Currently this closet is in the middle room (between the main and guest bedrooms). It’s actually bigger than it looks but the shelves don’t make good use of the space.

We may have paused in the house renovations to plan the wedding but someday we’ll actually reverse this closet. It shares a wall with our bedroom so we can make a much larger closet in our bedroom and close off the closet on this side. In fact, this will be the next renovation we undertake as it involves moving a wall and is the last thing standing between us and shiny, beautiful floors.

This room will then become the office. And maybe we’ll actually be able to store all our shoes in the closet. Imagine that.

nothing more rewarding than a good deal

I picked up some new summer sheets for our bed at the Jonathan Adler sample sale. Someday we’ll have a real bed too…

Another picture of Jasper - just for fun! What? Dooce takes pictures of her dog every day. It could be worse people!

He’s been enjoying his carrot toy that we picked up for him in San Fran.

Since we got rid of the big green couch there’s been a bit of a hole in our lives. We’ve put the chair there temporarily… But we will be getting a couple Quinns to fill the void. (We went to the store last weekend and loved it!)

Tony and Val came over a couple weeks ago and helped Thom install a couple window AC units. We now have AC in the den and the guest room. Just in time too - it’s been sweltering around here lately.
