One of the main reasons why I was able to convince Thom that we needed to buy a house was to have a real dining room. We love to have big lingering dinner parties. The kind with many courses and at least a case of wine.
And those types of affairs benefit from a certain warm glow to support the increasingly hazy conversations as the evening progresses. Which is why I looked high and low for the perfect chandelier. And when I didn’t find it I recruited Tung for help.
After 12 quarts of milk were emptied [thanks to Meg and Omar’s help] and some interesting wiring/measuring/scheming done by Tung we’re nearly there…

We’ve officially ordered all our tile and almost all the lights for the impending renovation. We’re packing all the boxes and preparing to move to Val & Tony’s while our house becomes a construction zone.
But I’m still undecided on the lighting for the dining room. I’d love a Droog Milk Bottle chandelier but without nearly 2 grand in extra cash I’ve asked Tung if we could make something similar ourselves. In my head our version would be mounted pretty close to the ceiling since we only have 8′ ceilings on the bottom floor.
In the meantime, I’ve still been considering other options - like the Lampel. Most of which Tung has shot down.

If I didn’t have to work but yet had endless funds I would create custom letterpress for EVERYTHING! And I would definitely work with Virgil O. Stamps.
He’s creating some really awesome stuff with recycled chip board.

If Thom took milk in his coffee I would totally be bringing the calf and half home.

I was so excited to be included in Anne’s bridesmaid challenge! Especially since the other bridesmaid designs are beyond gorgeous - gotta love Vane’s pink!
