We met up with Whitney and Jesse at Les Enfants Terribles last week while they were in town for an event. As a side benefit, every time we see them we also get to meet more of their friends who always leave Thom with the feeling that we need to explore our inner creative selves. For example, check out Instant Dong.
Due to a ever-expanding crowd some of the boys ate standing up at the bar which allowed them to get in some extra dancing. Although not everyone was in the dancing mood. Despite appearances, Greta’s boyfriend wasn’t actually sleeping at the table.

Dancing with utensils not recommended at home.
I only included this picture to provide evidence of how close Jesse and I were sitting to the band.
Until next time…

Is that the city regularly reminds me that I’m an idiot.
I can’t even count the number of times that I’ve professed my undying hatred for the F train. It’s slow. It’s dirty. It’s old and inconvenient. It regularly breaks down.
But now - camping out at Val & Tony’s in Park Slope - I realize I don’t really hate it at all. In fact, I kind of love it. Suddenly it seems like a speedy work commute. It’s pretty convenient even [still - why doesn’t it stop at Atlantic?!] and it’s a pleasant - if jealousy-inducing - stroll back to the apartment.
So, thanks New York for always reminding me that there’s some new neighborhood to be discovered, an old friend around the corner and an old grudge to be let go.
Don’t worry. This doesn’t change my devotion to the frequently glorious 2/3 and 4/5 trains.

Yesterday the new job had a company party. On a boat. It was a nice opportunity to get to know the people I work with, enjoy the weather and see the waterfalls up close.
They looked about a zillion times better lit up at night.
