Last week’s election was an amazing moment. People came out in droves to vote - I’ve never seen so many people in a good mood at 6 AM. Once the votes were in and the right man had won our neighborhood celebrated. A lot. It felt really great to have voted for the winner for once.
But all this was tempered with the shock of the Prop 8 results. I cannot fathom why people take issue with something that is clearly not their business. And why everyone on this earth shouldn’t be allowed the same rights.
I was so proud when I saw Phil in the NY Daily News protesting the results of the vote. And I wish I had been standing next to him.
Phil has never been the shy of creating a scene and this is an issue that certainly demands one.

Recently with a donation I received a subscription to Good magazine. And they must have some amazing information architects employed over there because they always have some really interesting graphics.
What will Barack do with his? He’s not even there yet and he’s already the most transparent and forthright politician I’ve seen. I’m so proud to have been able to vote for him.

When we were in DC a couple of weeks ago visiting friends we spotted Obama [ok, a cardboad cutout of him, whatever] lingering in a townhouse window. Quite ominous, no?

Who can blame Sophia for being a little distracted by silver glitter lipgloss while McCain was weaving his circular non-answers?
Haverly used to say [joke?] that she will have a padded room with a drain in which to lock her future children and easily hose them down. This so would have been one of those moments.
